The airport has been described as a place for the local and flying public to experience the beautiful region. Plans are being discussed to create a "Hudson Valley" theme in the airport's main terminal as one of its gateway projects. It is hoped that eventually the airports FBOs including Rifton Aviation and a Cessna Citation Service Center will be invited to get involved.
PrivateSky Aviation Services To Construct Aviation Complex In Florida.
PrivateSky Aviation Services, Inc. at SouthWest Florida International Airport (RSW), has announced that it will begin construction of a brand new 62,000 square foot mixed use Maintenance Service Center and Executive Terminal at SouthWest Florida International Airport. The Customer Service Center and terminal will contain a large lobby with hotel style decorum on the first level with the second level containing offices for the Maintenance Service Center customers as well as PrivateSky management.
The Maintenance Service Center is a 40,000 foot clear span hangar designed to handle the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of mid and large cabin aircraft. PrivateSky will handle almost all models of mid and large cabin aircraft but will specialize in Gulfstream IIs, IIIs and IVs initially. The Maintenance Service Center hangar can handle up to 6 Gulfstream size aircrafts simultaneously in a clear span high tech building. The facility will be 100% computerized and PrivateSky is seeking to become a facility known for Total Excellence in delivering aircraft from maintenance on time and at fair prices to its customers.
PrivateSky will also be an installing facility for the Stage III hush kits of Really Quiet which are now going through final conformity approval. PrivateSky has on its schedule the first production kit to install #5 after FAA conformity for one of its GIII customers who, coincidentally, is a Naples, Florida, based customer that has recently been banned as an operator by the Naples stage 2 total aircraft ban.
